Series Crackdown 7.0 TBR!

Hello friends, its that time again! Its Series Crackdown time! I am super super excited because this time the readathon runs from May 24th to June 2nd, which means I am out of school for the whole readathon and therefore I can actually read!! The last two or three rounds of this readathon have taken place while I am in school and that means I barely got any reading done but this time things will be different! This time I will spend the twitter sprints reading books I actually want to read and not my assigned school reading, what a concept.

This round of the readathon also has reading prompts!! I’m super excited because I love prompts, especially when you can double up on them which you can with these!! It’s an all around exciting time. Anyways, onto the actual TBR now.

Physical Reads!

I’m just going to start this out by saying this is somewhat over ambitious but also not at all? This series is a reread because, hello, hi, I’m Arin and I’ve read them 15,000 times and therefore read them super quickly. (Side note, don’t you just love all of these super cringy covers? I’m not gonna lie I tend to read my ebooks of them in public because I get embarrassed over the covers which is silly but the truth).

Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

This fulfills the prompt for first book in a series! It also fulfills my deep urge to reconnect with all of the Merrick brothers. I miss them and I need them in my life. The “elemental emo hours” are happening more and more frequently. Something has to happen to fix this and the only thing that will do it is reading these I’m afraid.

Spark by Brigid Kemmerer

This fulfills the prompt for reading a sequel! It would also fulfill one for having an unnecessary amount of angst but I don’t think that prompt made the list for some odd reason.

Spirit by Brigid Kemmerer

I’m gonna be completely honest here, I might skip this book? I have read it at least nine times and I know everything that happens and I know I don’t like it because I don’t like the main character. That being said, I always say I’ll skip it and never do so you can’t trust me saying that in the slightest lmao.

Secret by Brigid Kemmerer

I’m going to say that this fulfills the prompt for long series given that there are five books and three novellas. That is a lot, right? Anyways I am for sure going to read this book and bawl my eyes out so I can’t wait for that! We love suffering!

Sacrifice by Brigid Kemmerer

This fulfills the prompt for last book in a series! Also random fun fact time with Arin: this is the first book that ever made me cry. The first time I read it I bawled and I cry at the same exact scene almost every time I read it, it’s a great time. I always tell myself I am going to read it without crying and spoiler, it never happens. I guess there is a slight chance this time could be different? But it doesn’t seem likely.

I always have to have an audiobook going to listen to while I do chores and drive and such (and also while I sit around and play games on my phone but we don’t need to talk about that). I am going to try and actually read a new series (cue gasp) via audio so that the entire point of this readathon isn’t wasted on me lol.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

This fulfills the prompt for movie adaptation! There is a slight chance I’ll rent the movie and watch it after I finish listening to this, but its not really likely? I am not the biggest on movies and I remember a lot of people saying it wasn’t that good so I may take a pass on the actual movie and just take the fact that it gets a prompt of my list.

Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken

This fulfills the prompts for popular series on your TBR/been on your TBR forever because I have had all of these books on my shelf since I was like a freshman in high school.

In The Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken

I don’t really have anything to say here but like, I plan on listening to this audiobook and that’s pretty cool I guess lol.

That’s finally it! I am not going to try and add even more books because that would be way to many books to try and put on myself. Also, I know I didn’t fufill the prompt of a book published 10+ years ago but I am busy reading all of my books from 2012 over here apparently. Have you guys read any of these books? Are you also participating in series crackdown? Let’s chat in the comments!

  1. I’m so sad that I didn’t know about this series crackdown beforehand because the series I’ve been reading currently would be perfect for these prompts!! Unfortunately I’m already half way through the series so /: I’ve never heard of these books (your blog posts are actually what introduced me to that author!). It’s an ambitious list but knowing your reading pace, you’ll handle it all easily!!

    1. Aw that sucks so much, I love participating in series crackdown. I’m hoping I can get around to all of these, it just depends on work and other life things but I’m trying to keep my confidence up lol.
