Hi, friends! It’s Tuesday and thus, here I am, with my second ever Top Ten Tuesday. I wasn’t going to do this one because I could only think of like, two autobuy authors but once I thought about it, I was surprised by how many came to mind. I also feel like I should note that I don’t always “autobuy” because it depends on my financial situation at the moment, but these are auto-read or auto-request authors, if that makes sense. Anyways, onto the list.
If you didn’t know, Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
Also, just a note in case anyone notices, this post will not include goodreads links like all of my other posts do. Goodreads is owned by Amazon and I am participating in the boycott for the prime days, so I am avoiding that website for the next two days. I meant to write these ahead of time so they could still have links, but I forgot, so here I am drafting posts before I go to work on Monday. Such is life, I guess.
I. Brigid Kemmerer
I want everyone to know that it somewhat hurt me to not put an Elemental book cover here, but I know that Curse is one of if not her most well known book so I decided to put that as the image. I feel like my blog is just a Brigid Kemmerer appreciation blog half the time, so this should come as a surprise to no one. I have been a super big fan of this author since 8th grade when I read the first three books in her Elemental series and since then I have bought every book right after if not the day it came out. I am trash for Brigid Kemmerer and I am not ashamed to admit it.
II. Emily M. Danforth
If this blog is a Brigid Kemmerer appreciation blog half the time, then the other half of the time it is a Cameron Post appreciation blog so this one shouldn’t be a surprise either because, hi, my name is Arin and The Miseducation of Cameron Post is my favorite book of all time and I will never shut up about it. The fact that Cam is Danforth’s only published book at this time is honestly a tragedy, but if she ever publishes literally anything else (like, it could be a book on the history of stamps, I don’t care) I will be begging and crying for a ARC and then probably buy four copies when it comes out.
III. Rick Riordan
This one comes with a note that I have thus far only brought his Riordanverse ones (and I have almost a full shelf of them) and not his other ones like the 39 clues or whatever. But, I have almost a full shelf full of this man’s books so I think he had to go on here. I have loved Percy since middle school and I still enjoy his books today so I will continue to read all of them.
IV. Cassandra Clare
This once again comes with a disclaimer that I only mean her shadowhunter books, I have not read any of her middle grade books and I am uncertain if I will read her adult fantasy series, but I own literally every shadowhunter book so I feel like she had to be on here. I will continue to read every shadowhunter book, it can just be Tessa, Emma, and Clary chilling by a pool gossiping for four hundred pages and I will read every word. Anything for any book that may mention Clary Fairchild even once.
V. Casey McQuiston
I know that Casey McQuiston has only published one book, but I am already so in love with her books and her writing that I will buy everything she publishes ever. Her second book is f/f!!! And it sounds amazing!! I need it like now, so you can bet that I will be getting it the day it comes out.
VI. Katie Henry
Once again, Katie Henry only has one book out but it blew me away. Her second book comes out next month and I can’t wait to read it! Her books deal with religion and struggling with faith in such a nice, respectable way and I love it. Also, Heretics Anonymous is literally hilarious and you should all read it. It is about an atheist who goes to a Catholic school and joins an underground club and it’s so good. Please read it and also preorder Let’s Call It a Doomsday, thanks.
VII. Kiera Cass
Okay, listen, I know that The Selection is not like, prime literature, but I am trash for this series and will buy anything Kiera Cass writes. I haven’t read her other novel outside of this series, but I own it, so it counts. I never said I read the books I buy, that would make a little too much sense. Anyways, I love The Selection and that means I will support Kiera Cass in all she does, so she is on this list.
VIII. Elizabeth Tammi
Okay, so I haven’t read either of Elizabeth Tammi’s books. However, I own the first one and I just got an eARC of the second and I hope to read them both before the month is over, so I think it counts. She is also like, a super sweet person in general so I want to support her. But also, she is a senior in college? And come December she will have two published novels? I am mind blown at the mere thought.
Also her first novel is a f/f Greek mythology retelling and everyone is sleeping on it (myself included, but I plan on fixing that literally tonight so).
IX. Laura Silverman
Okay, so, once again, I haven’t read Silverman’s debut, but I own it. I also loved You Asked For Perfect so much I consider rereading it like once a month, so she has earned her spot on this list. I mean, I requested and reviewed a short story collection just because she had one story in it sooo (in case you were wondering, her story was a five star and all around amazing, preorder It’s A Whole Spiel).
X. Madeline Miller
What’s up, I’m Arin and I am a total classics nerd. Anyways, Madeline Miller owns my heart. I have read and five starred both of her novel and her short story and I am eagerly awaiting literally any other piece of content from her because I know it will be amazing.
Okay, so, that is my list. But what about you, who are some of your autobuy authors? Have you read anything by anyone on this list? Let’s chat in the comments!
Madeline Miller made my list too and I loved You Asked For Perfect! I’ve put Heretics Anonymous on my TBR too because it sounds awesome – great list! 😊

I used to be that way about Riordan, but after one too many “There’s a chaos monster going to destroy the world in three weeks at the next solstice/equinox/etc, and you have to trek across the country fighting smaller beasties and maybe someone you once trusted to save the universe!”, I eased off him. They’re fun, but…repetitive.

I totally get that! I keep reading them even though they are super repetitive just because I think they are really fun, but I can definitely see how people could get tired of them.

Cassandra Clare was on my list, too! I tried to start The Selection series, but couldn’t get into it. I’m thinking of maybe giving it another try, though.

Cassandra Clare’s books are super addicting!! I really love The Selection, but I fully acknowledge that they aren’t necessarily good books lol.
